Did you know that the "Big 5" was originally a hunting term? Well, we are claiming it back for conservation. This tour is all about wildlife and the people working to protect it. We provide the best opportunities to experience Africa's remarkable animals in their natural habitat, from the famous megafauna — elephants, rhino, Cape buffalo, and hippo — to the iconic hunters: lion, leopard, and cheetah. Bring your camera, your binoculars, and your sunscreen.
We traverse as many different habitats as possible to observe different species and behaviours. Every park has its own character, from the remote UNESCO World Heritage wilderness of Mana Pools along the Zambezi River, to meeting wild Rhino in Matobo National Park, to the vast plains of Hwange National Park covering over 14,500 square kilometres. We also visit the iconic Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and the widest curtain of falling water on earth.
From Zimbabwe we escort you across the border to Botswana and the famous Chobe National Park, where lions are out looking for breakfast and elephants join you for sundowners on the Chobe River. As an optional extra, we fly into the Okavango Delta, a vast pristine inland river system and UNESCO World Heritage Site hosting some of the most prolific and diverse wildlife on the continent. A must for birdos.

This tour builds on our Beyond the Big 5 itinerary and takes you further into the remarkable landscapes of Namibia. Along the way you will have the opportunity for cultural experiences with the San Bushman of the Kalahari and the Himba people, two of southern Africa's most fascinating indigenous communities. We take you to Namibia's legendary sand dunes, some of the tallest in the world, and through landscapes that feel unlike anywhere else on earth. If you are lucky, you may also encounter the rare Desert Elephant. There is a lot of ground to cover on this tour, so we encourage you to get in touch so we can tailor the itinerary to your pace and travel requirements.

The Big Overland Safari
Our overland safari is the only tour we run on fixed dates, and for good reason — this is an 8,000km journey through the full breadth of southern Africa in our custom-built tour vehicle. It is as immersive as travel gets.
Starting at Victoria Falls, we cross into Botswana to visit Chobe National Park and the UNESCO-listed Okavango Delta, before heading into Namibia for a cultural experience with the San Bushman, and on through Etosha National Park, the Skeleton Coast, Swakopmund, Sossusvlei, and the Fish River Canyon. From there we cross the border into South Africa, following the Orange River through the western cape and finishing in Cape Town.
We run this tour a few times per year. If you only want to travel the Namibia to Cape Town leg, you are welcome to join us in Namibia.
